Zinc futures rise 0.16% on overseas cues, spot demand

Supported by rising demand at the domestic spot market, zinc futures today edged up by 0.16 per cent to Rs 125.55 per kg as speculators enlarged positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in current month moved up by 20 paise, or 0.16 per cent, to Rs 125.55 per kg, with a business turnover of 706 lots.

The metal for delivery in June was trading higher by 15 paise, or 0.12 per cent to Rs 126.15 per kg in 23 lots.

Marketmen said improved demand in the domestic spot market, mainly influenced zinc prices at futures trade.
