Zinc prices inched up by 0.61 per cent to Rs 156.65 per kg in futures trade today as speculators built up fresh positions amid a firm trend at spot market on pick up in demand from consuming industries.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in November traded higher by 95 paise, or 0.61 per cent, to Rs 156.65 per kg, in a business turnover of 76 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in current month edged up by 80 paise, or 0.52 per cent, to Rs 155.90 per kg in 1,407 lots.
