Zinc prices eased 0.51 per cent to Rs 175.20 per kg in futures trade Tuesday as speculators cut positions, taking weak cues from the spot market on muted demand from consuming industries.

Besides, a weak trend in select base metals in global market put pressure.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in current month declined 90 paise, or 0.51 per cent, to Rs 175.20 per kg in a business turnover of 1,128 lots.

Marketmen said weakness in metals in the domestic spot market, owing to slackened demand from consuming industries, influenced prices.
