Zinc futures shed 0.82% on sluggish demand

Zinc prices moved down by 0.82 per cent to Rs 150.80 per kg in futures trading today as traders cut down their bets, tracking a weak trend at domestic spotmarkets due to fall in demand from consuming industries.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in October month fell by Rs 1.25, or 0.82 per cent to Rs 150.80 per kg in business turnover of 228 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in September contracts traded lower by Rs 1.10, or 0.73 per cent to Rs 150.35 per kg in 1860 lots.

Analysts said trimming of positions by participants due to subdued demand from consuming in the spot market mainly weighed on zinc prices at futures trade.
