Zinc prices edged lower by 0.17 per cent to Rs 204.55 per kg in futures trade today as traders reduced exposure amid easing demand from consuming industries at spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in December shed 35 paise, or 0.17 per cent, to Rs 204.55 per kg in a business turnover of 434 lots.

Metal for delivery in January also eased by a similar margin to quote at Rs 204.60 kg in 3 lots.

Analysts said, offloading of positions by participants owing to fall in demand from consuming industries at the spot market, mainly influenced zinc prices at futures trade.
