Zinc futures slip 0.19 pc on weak global cues

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Zinc prices drifted lower by 0.30 per cent to Rs 156 per kg in futures trade today as traders trimmed positions, tracking a weak trend overseas.

Moreover, muted demand from consuming industries in the spot market fuelled the downtrend.

At the Multi Commodity exchange, zinc for delivery in October fell by 30 paise or 0.19 per cent to Rs 156 per kg, in a business turnover of 297 lots.

Metal for delivery in November fell by a similar margin to trade at Rs 156.55 per kg in 68 lots.

Analysts attributed the fall in zinc futures to a weak global trend, where it softened with other metals, and subdued demand at the domestic spot markets.
