Zinc prices fell by 0.14 per cent to Rs 208 per kg in futures market today as participants pared their holdings amid fall in demand from consuming industries in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in May month fell by 30 paise, or 0.14 per cent to Rs 208 per kg in business turnover of 711 lots.

On similar lines, the metal for delivery in June month contracts traded lower by a similar margin to Rs 208.45 per kg in 4 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by traders due to easing demand from consuming industries in the physical market mainly weighed on zinc prices at futures trade.
