Press Trust of India New Delhi
Zinc futures edged up 0.29 per cent to Rs 155.35 per kg today after speculators built up bets on the back of pick-up in demand in the domestic spot market even as metal weakened overseas.

In futures trading at the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in current month gained 45 paise, or 0.29 per cent, to Rs 155.35 per kg, in a business turnover of 455 lots.

Metal for delivery in November also rose by a similar margin to trade at Rs 155.95 per kg in six lots.

According to marketmen uptick in demand at domestic spot markets from consuming industries supported the upside in zinc futures here but a weak trend in metal at the London Metal Exchange (LME), capped the gains.
