Zinc futures edged up by 0.20 per cent to Rs 127.75 per kg today amid a firm global trend and better domestic demand as speculators enlarged positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in February was up by 25 paise, or 0.20 per cent, to Rs 127.75 per kg with a business turnover of 264 lots.

The metal for delivery in March also rose marginally by 20 paise, or 0.16 per cent, to Rs 128.15 per kg in a business volume of 10 lots.

Marketmen said improved demand in the spot market amid a firming trend in base metals overseas supported the rise in zinc futures here.
