Zinc futures up 0.4% on spot demand; global cues

Speculators enlarged positions amidst a firming trend overseas

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Zinc futures edged up by 0.37% to Rs 134.90 per kg today after speculators enlarged positions amidst a firming trend overseas.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in January moved up by 50 paise, or 0.37%, to Rs 134.90 per kg in a business turnover of three lots.

The metal for delivery this month rose by 40 paise, or 0.30%, to trade at Rs 134.15 per kg with a business turnover of 226 lots.

According to marketmen, apart from improved demand in the spot markets, strength in select base metals at the London Metal Exchange supported the upside in zinc futures.
