Metal for delivery in March also rose by 0.3%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Zinc futures prices today edged up by 0.37% to Rs 122.80 per kg amid a firm trend in spot market on domestic demand, as speculators created positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in April up by 45 paise, or 0.37%, to Rs 122.80 per kg, with a business turnover of 16 lots.

The metal for delivery in March also rose by 40 paise, or 0.33%, to Rs 121.65 per kg, with a business turnover of 362 lots.

Globally, zinc traded a shade higher at the London Metal Exchange (LME).

Marketmen said besides improved demand in the spot market and covering-up of short positions by speculators, metal's gain at the LME supported the upside in zinc prices at futures trade.
