Zinc up by 0.6% on spot demand

Zinc up by 0.6% on spot demand

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Supported by rising demand at the domestic spot market, zinc futures prices today edged up by 0.56% to Rs 98.60 per kg today after speculators created positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in January increased by 50 paise or 0.56% to Rs 98.60 per kg with a business turnover of 825 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in February traded higher by 40 paise or 0.40% to Rs 99.50 per kg in a turnover of 17 lots.

Traders said improved spot demand mainly led to rise in zinc prices at futures trade here but slide in base metals pack at the London Metal Exchange (LME) amid renewed concerns over China's slowing growth, limited the gains.
