Zinc gains 0.29% on good spot demand

Zinc prices inched up by 0.29 per cent to Rs 208.30 per kg in the futures market today as participants built up fresh positions, driven by pick up in demand at the spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in

June edged up by 60 paise, or 0.29 per cent to Rs 208.30 per kg in business turnover of 612 lots.

On similar lines, the metal for delivery in July was up by 40 paise, or 0.19 per cent to Rs 208.45 per kg in 3 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions created by traders, tracking a firm trend at the spot markets following rising demand from consuming industries at the physical markets led to the rise in zinc prices.
