Zinc down by 0.3% on global cues

Speculators trimmed positions amid weak global cues

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Amid a weak trend in the global markets and subdued domestic demand, zinc futures traded a shade lower at Rs 137.10 per kg today as speculators trimmed positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in April traded lower by 35 paise, or 0.26%, to Rs 137.10 per kg in business turnover of 273 lots.

Likewise, the metal prices for delivery in May shed 20 paise, or 0.14%, to Rs 137.90 per kg in eight lots.

Market analysts attributed the fall in zinc futures to offloading of positions by speculators amidst a weak trend overseas and subdued domestic demand.
