Zinc marginally up by Rs 2 on global cues

Zinc prices edged up by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metals market today, largely on firm global trend.

Traders said apart from a firm trend overseas, pick up in demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market kept zinc prices higher.

Meanwhile, zinc for delivery in three month was up 1.4 per cent to USD 1,667.50 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.

In the national capital, zinc ingots rose by Rs 2 to Rs 94-100 per kg.

Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):

Zinc ingot Rs 94-100, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 822-827, Gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, Copper mixed scrap Rs 347, Chadri deshi Rs 295.
 

Lead ingot Rs 82, lead imported Rs 88, aluminium ingots Rs 144, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 140, aluminium wire scrap Rs 140 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 138.
