Zinc and nickel showed some strength and prices rose up to Rs 4 per kg on the local non-ferrous base metals market today on stockists buying to meet industrial demand amid a firming global trend.
Traders said sentiment turned better after zinc advanced to the highest level in more than a year as industrial metals rose after China retained its economic growth target.
Meanwhile, zinc for delivery in three months rose 1.1 per cent to USD 2,143.50 a metric tonne, the highest intra-day level since February 20 last year on the London Metal Exchange.
