Mizo National Front (MNF) president Zoramthanga has said the Centre and the Myanmarese government have urged him to initiate a peace deal with NSCN's Khaplang faction

"The Prime Minister's Office has urged me to make contact with Khaplang, while the Mynamarese government has asked me to meet the Naga leader" to initiate peace talks with NSCN(K), Zoramthanga said while addressing a party programme here.

The former Mizoram chief minister had broken the impasse between the Centre and the NSCN(I-M) when he had met its leaders Th. Muivah and Isaac Chishi Swu in Bangkok in October, 2002 during the Atal Bihari Vajpayee regime.

His intervention resulted in resumption of the stalled talks and finally culminated into signing of the Naga Accord in December last year.
