The 95-year-old actress, who has been in and out of hospital in recent years, was taken to California's UCLA medical centre on Wednesday morning for medical assistance, reported TMZ.
Surgeons operated on Gabor and she is now being monitored by doctors, according to her husband Prince Frederic von Anhalt.
"This really spoiled our Christmas," he said.
It is the latest health scare for Gabor, who underwent surgery in 2011 to amputate her right leg below the knee to prevent the spread of gangrene.
