Amplus partners Snapdeal for 1 MW rooftop solar project

Amplus Energy Solutions today said it has signed a Rs 5-crore deal with e-commerce firm Snapdeal to install 1 MW rooftop solar projects.

Under the pact, Amplus will set up rooftop solar plants warehouses of Vulcan Express, the captive logistics unit of Snapdeal, across various locations, it said in statement.

Gurgaon based Snapdeal plans to reduce its CO2 emissions by 34,500 MT or reduce consumption of 2,55,000 barrels of crude oil which will be equivalent to planting 43,000 trees in India with this association.

Amplus is looking to expand its geographic footprint in India and hire resources. It currently employs more than 100 people with offices in 5 major cities of the country.

Significant majority of professionals feel overworked: Study * A significant majority of working professionals said that they are overworked and around 60 per cent claim that the workload has worsened as compared to last year, says a study.

The TimesJobs study noted that of the 700 respondents, nearly 70 per cent of them said they work very long hours (overtime). However, almost 80 per cent of these professionals who put in extra hours, do not think it helps increase their productivity in any way.

"An all-inclusive employee engagement strategy helps create a sense of ownership, participation and involvement that are critical to ensure that employees are performing at their best and contributing the maximum to the organisation," Times Business Solutions Head of Strategy Nilanjan Roy said.

Symphony launches air cooler with multiple features * Ahmedabad-based air cooler company Symphony today said it has launched a range of air coolers with additional features such as air purifier and mosquito repellent, among others.

The product is "loaded with new age features like touch screen, voice assist, mosquito repellent, four side cooling pads and gives powerful cooling through double blower among others," the company said in a release.

"Innovation is a part of our DNA and this launch is yet another example of our thrust on R&D and innovation. One of Symphony's fundamental business strategies is to drive growth through cutting-edge R&D", Symphony Chairman and Managing Director Achal Bakeri said.

Parag announces foray into protien segment * Dairy firm Parag Milk Foods today said it has forayed into USD 12.4 Billion whey protein market under the name Avvatar Absolute.

Brand Avvatar Absolute is the 1st 100 per cent vegetarian whey protein made in India. It is made during the process of manufacturing cheese using fresh grass fed cow's milk, the company said in a statement.

"We are very excited to bring our high-quality Avvatar Absolute whey protein to the market. We have invested Rs 110 crore in the plant as we foresee huge demand from the retail consumers," Parag Milk Chairman Devendar Shah said.
