MUMBAI (Reuters) - India's stocks, bonds and currency markets will be closed on Thursday for Christmas holiday. Trading will resume on Friday.
The Sensex closed 1.08 percent lower at 27,208.61 on Wednesday, while the Nifty lost 1.12 percent to 8,174.10, marking their biggest fall in over a week.
The partially convertible rupee hit its lowest level in a week and closed at 63.5150/5250 per dollar on Wednesday, weaker than Tuesday's close of 63.28/29.
The benchmark 10-year bond yield closed 4 basis points higher at 7.96 percent on Wednesday.
