Indian banks' loans rose 10.2 percent in the two weeks to May 15 from a year earlier, while deposits rose 11.9 percent, the Reserve Bank of India's weekly statistical supplement showed on Friday.
Outstanding loans fell Rs 47,850 crore to Rs 66.32 lakh crore in the two weeks to May 15. Non-food credit fell Rs 55,310 crore to Rs 65.21 lakh crore, while food credit rose Rs 7,460 to Rs 1.12 lakh crore.
Bank deposits fell Rs 73,080 crore to Rs 87.40 lakh crore in the two weeks to May 15.
