BSE Sensex falls from 2-1/2 year highs; banks hit

Reuters MUMBAI

MUMBAI (Reuters) - The BSE Sensex snapped a four-day winning streak on Monday, retreating from 2-1/2-year highs as investors booked profits on rate-sensitive stocks such as ICICI Bank, while drugmakers fell were hit by worries about the country's new drug pricing policy.

ICICI Bank Ltd fell 1.68 percent, while Cipla Ltd lost 1.94 percent.

The BSE Sensex fell 0.31 percent, while the 50-share Nifty ended down 0.49 percent.
