BSE Sensex rises over 350 points; metal stocks surge

Reuters MUMBAI

MUMBAI (Reuters) - The BSE Sensex rose more than 350 points with shares in metal companies such as Tata Steel rallying after activity in China's vast manufacturing sector hit a four-month high in August as new orders rebounded.

Tata Steel Ltd gained 10 percent, while Sterlite Industries Ltd rose 12.4 percent.

The Nifty is up nearly 2 percent.
