Facebook second quarter revenue increases 61 percent

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Facebook Inc grew its revenue 61 percent in the second quarter, as the Internet company benefited from strong demand for its mobile advertising business.

Facebook said on Wednesday that it generated $2.91 billion in revenue in the three months ended June 30, up from $1.81 billion in the year-ago period.
