India's Apr-Aug fiscal deficit touches 75%of full-year target

Net tax receipts were at Rs 1.85 lakh cr in the first five months of the current fiscal year

The country's fiscal deficit was Rs 3.98 lakh crore ($64.4 billion) during April-August, or about 74.9% of the full-year target, government data showed on Tuesday.

The deficit was 74.6% during the comparable period in the previous fiscal year.

Net tax receipts were at Rs 1.85 lakh crore in the first five months of the current fiscal year that ends in March 2015.
