Sensex gains 285 points, ends above 19,000

Reuters MUMBAI

MUMBAI (Reuters) - The BSE Sensex rose on Thursday led by gains in rate-sensitive stocks such as HDFC after exports data raised rate-cut hopes.

The benchmark 10-year bond yields fell to their lowest since July 28, 2010.

Housing Development Finance Corp Ltd rose 3.52 percent, while ICICI Bank Ltd ended 2.28 percent higher.

The BSE Sensex gained 1.52 percent to end at 19016.46, while the 50-share Nifty ended up 1.51 percent.
