Sensex hits record high after Fed stance on rates

Reuters Market Eye - The BSE Sensex hit a record high on Thursday with exporters leading the gains on the U.S. Federal Reserve's optimism about U.S. economic recovery,

The benchmark BSE Sensex was up 0.77 percent 27,305.53 at 1:05 p.m. after hitting a record of 27,358.85. The broader Nifty rose 0.75 percent.

Infosys was up 2.3 percent while Dr.Reddy's Laboratories gained 1.5 percent.

Realty shares rose after the government relaxed rules for foreign investment in construction.

DLF gained 3.9 percent, Sobha Developers was up 2.3 percent.

A lower-than-expected increase in wheat support prices also aided sentiment.
