The small and medium units engaged in precision engineering and steel re-rolling should look forward to new business opportunities as the CII (Northern Region) has plans to organise a buyer-seller meet in collaboration with PSUs for the defence sector.
The new CII (NR) chairman, R M Khanna, confirmed that he had discussions with the officials in the Army and Air Force to give impetus to this region by extending business opportunities for the products required by the Ministry of Defence.
He added that north missed the bus of industrial development due to sundry reasons and the CII had prepared a roadmap to arrange platform for the clusters located here with the help of CII members as facilitators who are into big business.
He stressed that the steel re-rolling mills of Mandi Gobindgarh were one of the best in India and the existing clusters could be upgraded by creating a right kind of business environment for them.
