MP Pithampur cluster complete

Small units in Madhya Pradesh will soon receive training for the labour employed, ultra-modern tool room, testing, training, designing, marketing and other facilities like the disposal of hazardous waste facility. The state’s first industrial cluster Pithampur Auto Cluster Limited (PACL) is almost complete and is ready for launch next month .

The labour has already started receiving training. The cluster has come up in joint association with the local industrial organisation Pithampur Audyogik Sangathan, the state government agency, Indore Audyogik Kendra Vikas Nigam and the central government. It is a special purpose vehicle created to facilitate Pithampur auto industry on various fronts.

 

The PACL has been formed under the centre’s industrial infrastructure upgrade scheme launched by the department of industrial policy & promotion and the Ministry of Commerce & Industry.

“We have already started imparting training for labours and the first batch of 88 has been absorbed by Jai Bharat Maruti, which has preferential shares in the SPV. The company has entered into a joint venture with Sandhar Technologies Ltd with 50:50 stake to form a consortium for operating and maintaining the tool room created at Hirniakhedi (near Pithampur).

Last year, the state government had decided to allocate 5 acres of land area of the unit in Hirniakhedi. “We have imported world class machines from Italy and Rs 44 crore has been invested in the tool room,” Gautam Kothari, chairman of the sangthan said. The sangthan has completed its 20 years and has widened its base in large, small and medium industry.

The state government is the majority stake holder in the company as it had allotted land area. The central government has contributed Rs 33. 30 crore so far. The Sangathan is an equity partner in the company.

Ramkey Infrastructure has also chipped in and has been allotted preferential shares worth Rs 5 crore. The company has created a waste facility for hazardous chemicals in the vicinity.”
