MSMEs to raise ease-of-doing business issues with PM

Narendra Modi

BS Reporter New Delhi
Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) plan to raise issues that prevent them from setting up and running businesses in a trouble-free manner at a brainstorming session with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi next week, according to Knowledge and News Network (KNN), a media portal that focuses on MSMEs.

Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME) President D Gandhikumar said the first priority should be to resolve the problems of existing entrepreneurs, who could become the biggest ambassadors for the 'Make in India' initiative to Indian entrepreneurs as well as foreigners.

Most issues relating to industry involve both the Centre and the states, but there was no single agency responsible for their resolution, and so the buck kept getting passed from one department to another, he said.

He expressed concern over the young generation shunning manufacturing in India as they found it not worth the risk. The Indian economy could not absorb 12 million people that come to the job market every year without creating mass-scale entrepreneurship, Gandhikumar added.
