NETWORK OPTIONS: Dax Network's new range of products could help businesses reduce IT overheads.

Small businesses keen to save on their networking spend can now avail a new range of products from Dax Networks.

Chennai-based Dax Networks, which offers networking technologies like routers, switches, cabling and virtual private network, has rolled out a special range of products for small and medium businesses (SMBs) in India.

"SMBs are one of the fastest growing segment right now and as most of the Indian SMBs are yet to leverage Information Technology beyond simple email applications, Dax could come handy here with its intention to help customers save on their enterprise networking spend," said K Surendar, country manager, Dax Networks.

Products include campus networking which means connecting various departments within a campus irrespective of location, as well as establishing WAN connectivity between the central location and five remote locations spread across major towns and cities for data transfer.

The company also has products that offer digital and analog network interfaces, which in turn ensures real-time voice processing, reducing latency and improving overall system performance for sophisticated, high-density speech solutions.

"Depending on the number of switches, routers, and cabling an SMB would require, together with its overall workforce, the products and networking would cost anywhere between Rs 20 lakh and Rs 3 crore. Typically, it costs Rs 1,000 for cabling per node," said Surendar.

For mission critical applications, Dax assures 100 per cent reliability and security for its products. Moreover, all products are designed for Indian conditions.

Dax expects the Indian SMB segment to contribute close to 20 per cent to its overall revenue.
