Bhel also recently commissioned the country's largest capacity variable speed drive synchronous motor (4500 kw) for Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd's Vizag refinery project. These motors, which have been imported to date, operate at different speeds in an explosive atmosphere, laden with hydrogen gas.
