11.55% Gilt Dealt For Rs 140 Crore

The wholesale debt market segment at the National Stock Exchange clocked an active trading volume of Rs 541.78 crore yesterday. The treasury bill segment contributed Rs 20 crore, while the certificate of deposits and commercial papers recorded volumes of Rs 5 crore each.

The day saw two repo deals worth Rs 50 crore for a term of 10 days and at rate of 7.75 per cent. Repo deal was conducted for the 13.40 per cent government loan maturing on 1999 and 12.14 per cent government loan maturing on 2000 for Rs 25 crore each.The 11.55 -per cent government loan maturing on 2001 reported 23 trades for a volume of Rs 140 crore at a weighted average yield of 11.45 per cent. The paper was traded for a low of Rs 100.07 and touched a high of Rs 100.16, before closing at Rs 100.09.

 

The 11.95 per cent government loan maturing on 2004, too, was in demand, reporting eight trades and registering a volume of Rs 100 crore. The paper was traded at the weighted average yield of 11.87 per cent. It recorded a low of Rs 100.20 and high of Rs 100.25.

The 11.68 per cent government loan maturing on 2002 saw a bulk trade for Rs 25 crore at the yield of 11.62 per cent.
