11.55% Gilt Dealt For Rs 15 Crore

The wholesale debt market (WDM) of the NSE witnessed a total traded volume of Rs 224.78 crore yesterday.

Dealers say trading was dull with volumes coming down by Rs 46 crore compared with the previous day. There was not much movement in prices of most stocks, they added. Selling pressure was seen in a few counters. Most trades were clustered at the short end of the market. No repo deals were reported.

The newly auctioned 11.55 per cent government loan was dealt for Rs 15 crore, at lower prices compared with their previous level giving a weighted yield of 11.60 per cent.

 

The zero coupon government bond maturing in 1999 gained two paise at close and was traded for Rs 33 crore at a weighted yield of 10.50 per cent. The 11.75 per cent government loan maturing in 2001 was dealt for Rs 25 crore at a weighted yield of 11.63 per cent.

Deals in commercial papers totalled Rs 30 crore. Tisco's paper maturing October 29, 1999 was traded for Rs 10 crore. In the debentures section, there was some improvement with volumes increasing to Rs 79.27 crore compared with Rs 57 crore on the previous trading day.
