11.75% Loan Draws Rs 130 Crore Deals

The wholesale debt market segment of the National Stock Exchange witnessed active dealings accounting for 84 trades and contributing to a trade volume of Rs 612.96 crore yesterday.

Traders said hectic transactions was witnessed and prices of the securities rose during the day by nearly 50 paise across the board.

The 11.75 per cent government loan maturing on 2006 registered 14 deals and contributed to a volume of Rs 130 crore. The paper was traded at the weighted average yield of 11.68 per cent and at the low of Rs 100.18 and high of Rs 100.30.

The 13.50 per cent government loan maturing on 2007 saw 16 trades and contributed volume of Rs 138 crore. The paper was traded at the weighted average yield of 11.79 per cent, at the low of Rs 106.50 and high of Rs 106.95.

 

With the call money rates hovering at a lower rates of below six per cent, the treasury bill market has lost its charm and stray deals are being reported in this segment. The segment saw only two trades contributing to the volume of Rs 13 crore.

The 14.75 per cent bonds of IDBI maturing on 2003 was traded for Rs 5 crore at the weighted average yield of 13.36 per cent and priced at Rs 104.31.
