NIIT Inc, a 100-per cent subsidiary of city-based NIIT Ltd, will be

seeking to generate business through alliances with American city

governments and non-government organisations (NGOs) for community

education programmes.

"We will start negotiating soon (in this regard), though it's a bit

different from the (deals) undertaken by us in India," NIIT Inc's newly

appointed president and chief operating officer, James G Gionfriddo,

said.

Gionfriddo pointed out that community education programmes makes good

business sense as they can leverage the experiences of NIIT in this area

in India.

NIIT is also targetting areas of emerging technologies through

acquisitions to spur its growth in the US market.

"There are other alliances, more lucrative, which we will look at,"
