The wholesale debt market at the National Stock Exchange clocked hectic trading activity of Rs 479.60 crore yesterday. There were 76 trades done in the government securities segment and the 749 trades in the corporate debentures segment.
The corporate debentures segment accounted to trades worth Rs 265.83 lakh yesterday.

With the easing of call money rates there was buying interest witnessed for the treasury bills segments accounting to trade worth Rs 85 crore.
There was strong demand for the 12.14 per cent government loan maturing in 2000 and was traded at the weighted yield of 10.12 per cent. There were 11 trades done for the paper accounting to a trade volume of Rs 60 crore and was traded at a low of Rs 104.43 and closed at a high of 104.93 for the day.
The 12.59 per cent government loan maturing in 2004 was traded at the weighted yield of 11.09 per cent clocking a volume of Rs 39 crore. The 11.19 per cent government loan maturing in 2005 showed trade volume of Rs 30 crore and was traded at the weighted yield 11.12 per cent.
In the treasury bills segment, the 364-day T-bill maturing on April 24, 1998 was traded for Rs 25 crore at the weighted yield of 7.6 per cent.
