12.69 Paper Fetches Rs 15 Crore

The total trading volume in the wholesale debt market segment of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was Rs 192.36 crore yesterday.

Total traded value in corporate debentures was Rs 502.75 crore.

The overnight interest rates ruled in the band of 4.25 per cent to 5.25 per cent.

During this week the total traded value was Rs 357.69 crore. Volumes in the securities market continued to be sluggish.

The volumes will pick up once the auction of three-year paper for Rs 3,000 crore is over.

But then, this could lead to an increase in the call rates and affect the volumes in the gilts market.

 

Yesterday the 12.69 per cent 2002 was traded for Rs 15 crore at a yield of 12.60 per cent. Among other securities the 13.50 per cent 1997 was traded at a yield of 8.93 per cent for Rs 45 crore.

Among corporate debentures the 18 per cent SPIC 1998 was traded to the tune of Rs 4.12 crore while the total volumes in the zero per cent Reliance Petro 2001 was Rs 63.22 lakh.

There were buyers in the 10.50 per cent KRCL as well as the promissory note of GE Capital.
