13.05% Gilt Traded For Rs 35 Crore

The wholesale debt market (WDM) on the National Stock Exchange witnessed a trading volume of Rs 328.09 crore yesterday. The treasury bill segment contributed to a volume of Rs 23.65 crore.

"There was moderate trading interest because of excess liquidity in the system but traders were awaiting the budget to be announced before taking any position in the market," said a dealer. The day saw the commercial paper of Crompton Greaves being traded for Rs four crore at the yield of 10.39 per cent.

The floating rate bond, maturing in 1999, saw a bulk trade for Rs 25 crore at the yield of 11.01 per cent. The 12.70 per cent government loan, maturing in 2001, was traded for Rs 35 crore at the weighted average yield of 11.36 per cent. The paper saw three trades priced at Rs 103.

 

The 13.05 per cent government loan, maturing in 2007, saw five trades for Rs 35 crore. The paper was traded at the weighted average yield of 11.99 per cent at the low of Rs 105.40, a high of Rs 105.70 before closing at Rs 105.62.

The 11.75 per cent government loan, maturing in 2001, was traded for Rs 20 crore at the weighted average yield of 11.36 per cent.
