13.50% Gilt Sees Rs 25 Cr Trades

The wholesale debt market (WDM) at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) clocked trades amounting to Rs 300.08 crore yesterday which was lower than Wednesdays volumes of Rs 484.99 crore. The quantum of trade in repo deals was also down to Rs 97 crore from Rs 145 crore on Wednesday.

Interest rates in the inter bank money market eased to below ten per cent. While this improved the sentiment in the market for fixed income instruments, yesterday, being a fortnight end, interest in securities was subdued.

Among dated securities, the 13.50 per cent 1998 government paper was traded for Rs 25 crore at a weighted yield of 14.70.

 

The 11 per cent 2002 government paper was traded for Rs 40 crore at a weighted yield of 12.8 per cent.

Among treasury-bills, the 364-day bill maturing on April 10, 1998 was traded for Rs 25 crore at a weighted yield of 14.80 per cent.

Total value of corporate debentures traded was Rs 80.06 for 315 trades. Of this, maximum interest was in the Reliance Petro zero per cent 2001 paper which saw 250 trades for Rs 74.5327 lakh at an indicative yield of 18.82 per cent.
