Asia Crude Prices Steady To Soft, Cautious On Iraq

According to latest reports heavy fighting took place near a strategic bridge at the village of Degala as Iraqi government troops stood by.

The Nov Brent/Dubai spread was quoted at $1.80/$1.90 compared with an offer Wed at $2.20. The Dubai intermonth spreads narrowed to 35/43 cents for Nov/Dec compared with 42/46 cents Wed, with Dec/Jan at 35/42 cents.

MidEast market was actively traded Wed with 4,50,000 barrels of Oct Qatar Land done at plus eight cents a barrel between two US majors.

A US major bought 2,50,000 barrels of October Murban crude at plus 11 cents from a French firm, while 500,000 barrels of Oman for October was traded at plus three cents between two majors. Oman was offered at plus five cents.
