Further BSES has taken the line that it is already paying
Rs 150 crore as demand charges to TEC. Consequently, the shortfall on the standby charges account is only about Rs 31 crore and not Rs 181.5 crore as claimed by TEC.
At present the BSES tariff for residential consumers, who account for over 50 per cent its revenues of about Rs 1947 crore, is
Rs 2.36 per unit. The tariff for its industrial and commercial consumers is 4.72 per unit and Rs 5.09 per unit respectively. The company has not hiked its tariff for the last three years.
