Carborundum Universal Net Profit Up 32%

Net profit at Carborundum Universal is up 32 per cent to Rs 25.9 crore in 1999-2000. Net sales during the year were up a marginal 3 per cent to Rs 257.96 crore. In line with the policy of progressively reducing investments in the Murugappa Group Companies, certain investments were sold yielding a profit of Rs 7.17 crore. The board has proposed a final dividend of Re 1 per equity share taking the total dividend to Rs 6 per equity share.
