Centre Likely To Go For Another Round Of Excise Duty Cut

The government is likely to go in for another round of excise duty cut soon to facilitate a downward revision in the domestic prices of the petroleum products as demanded by the Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee.

Sources said that finance ministry is working out the details of the excise cut which may result in a revenue forego of about Rs 500 crore. They said that a final decision in this regard was expected in a day or two.
