After serving as the acting chairman of the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) for 20 long months, Ashok Kumar Mishra has been relieved of this charge which was in addition to his normal duties as the secretary of the corporation.
J Vasudevan, the additional secretary in the Union ministry of power will now officiate as the DVC chairman. However, despite being given this additional charge on August 2, Vasudevan has not indicated when he will come to the DVC headquarters in Calcutta. The next board meeting of the corporation cannot also be fixed till the new officiating chairman gives time.
