Donald Short, the CEO of Coca-Cola India, stated: What the Coca-Cola system has done by way of foreign exchange creation...is a demonstration of its commitment to India. The companys export achievement has been spearheaded by its exports of coffee which account for 70 per cent of its earnings. Short explained that the company had pioneered the launch of Indian green coffee under a Georgia Signature Madras Blend label in the Japanese market. It is claimed that the blend has captured a 50 per cent market share in its segment of the same market. Coca-Cola is now trying to export black tea ingredients for the `Ko cha ka den brand in Japan. Other items exported by Coca-Cola from India include trucks, packaging material, plastic crates and pet bottles.
