This stock lost over 19 per cent of its market capitalisation over the previous week. This steep fall is due to its plans of selling its Ahmedabad-based formulation unit. The company is also selling five branded products to repay its debt obligation towards financial institutions. The product categories of the brands which the company is planning to sell are analgesic, amoebic, cardiovascular, antihistamine and antibiotic. It has defaulted on both the interest and the principle repayment to financial institutions. FIs have an exposure of Rs 360 crore in Core Healthcare. The companys turnover for the 15-month period ending June 1996 was Rs 244 crore and the unit which is to be sold off contributed about 11 per cent to the turnover.
