Calcutta Stock Exchange (CSE) yesterday inaugurated its first investors service cell in the CSE buildings as an attempt to provide one stop service centers to the investors.

CSE executive director Tapas Datta said the bourse has decided to set up investors' services center in Durgapur, Asansol, Jalpaiguri and Siliguri within two months' time.

The proposed centers will not only provide information on price quotations of Calcutta, Bombay and National exchanges, it will also accept investors' grievances.

Datta said the centers will also provide public issue forms, on-line news services and some important information regarding stock trading.

" In a word, our aim is to make these centers as one-stop trouble shooting cells," he said.

According to him, the cells will be particularly beneficial to the investors placed in remote towns as they will not need to come down to the city only to file a grievance.

The bourse is also planning to extend its C-Star trading terminals to the proposed investors' centers. "The bourse's attempt to extend the C-Star net in the remote towns, so far ,failed to evince local brokers' interests. We have plans to extend the C-Star facility as well as investors service cells under one roof," he said.
