Cummins India, a leading diesel engine manufacturer, has introduced 'power solutions' that offer customised packages including mobile 'quick serve', annual maintenance contracts, demineralisation plants, lubricating oils, filtration products, co-generation, e-commerce, engine health check and product upgrade kits.
Besides, the company is also offering powerhouse management packages such as remote monitoring facilities and load management systems. The concept also takes care of project finance schemes by providing for options such as lease, rental, build operate lease and transfer (BOLT) and outright purchase of gensets.
"Cummins India has a very significant role to play in the global markets and India presents a considerable challenge to us. The Power Solutions concept has taken shape from our in-depth understanding of the power requirements of various industries.

"The launch of the new concept will bring out a range of end-to-end solutions for various businesses, from load management and project financing to powerhouse operations and management. The customer now has the option of leasing gensets and being billed on a monthly basis for the power consumed. Having been the leader in diesel engine manufacturing in India for 38 years, we are now unveiling our new range which conforms to US EPA Tier I emission norms," Pradeep Bhargava, managing director of Cummins Power Solutions and chief executive of the power generation business unit said.
Cummins' engines and equipment range from trucks and buses, generating sets, compressors, dumpers, dozers, shovels locomotives, fishing trawlers and fire-fighting pumps.
Cummins India, established in 1962, has produced more than 1,60,000 engines to date at its facility in Pune. CIL, having a turnover of Rs 829 crore, manufactures nearly 10,000 engines per annum, with more than 30 per cent being exported to international markets.
