EPFO to fast-track claims of flood victims

Minister says EPFO employees should gear up for early settlement of claims of victims

Union Labour & Employment Minister Sis Ram Ola today asked the Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) to fast track settlement of claims of provident fund, pension and employees deposit linked insurance submitted by families of affected persons in Uttarakhand.

Flagging of seven trucks full of relief material collected by workers and officers of EPFO here today, Ola said that EPFO employees should gear up for an early settlement of claims especially of victims and relatives of calamities.

He said that the introduction of the online transfer facility which would be launched soon would  cut delays in transfer of Provident Fund. He also informed that the Ministry of Labour has already sent a proposal to enhance the wage ceiling for EPF purpose for the workers/employees engaging in different organized and unorganized sector entities.
 
Ola also received a cheque of one crore rupees from EPFO employees to be handed to the chief minister of Uttarakhand.
